|However, there are also many accounts of soldiers who disobeyed orders that went against his or her conscious and/or later talked out against things of their service they disagreed having. Soldiers are not meaningless drones! They are commonly very intelligent people.
An example is Major General Smedley Butler, America's a lot of decorated marine in current military history, who composed the book, "War may be a Racket", which exposed that corrupt money-making schemes involved in overseas wars. Smedley, emphasized that soldiers should only come in to protect their country, not to police the world or fight on behalf of money hungry politicians. Very brave and intellectual terms indeed!
Many liberal leaning people, often criticize our servicemen to be mindless robots for america military, but this couldn't be farthest from your truth. Every person who wants to serve our country is essential to take an oath to the usa constitution, a legal instruments that formed the muse of our modern legal system to that the average American cannot sometimes recite.
When our nation is threatened with an out of doors attack or an interior attack of gigantic ratios, the military is deployed to handle the crisis. These individuals spend their careers honing their combat, administrative, legal, and survival skills in order to protect those of their community.
While I agree that it is the duty involving Americans to arm themselves and do the protection of their particular communities, our servicemen devote 100% of time towards this effort, hence, they are experts on this field. Because have a military, we could walk through the roads, fly through the air on our airplanes, and travel the globe, knowing that there is often a military force that is trained and willing to protect us from invaders.
